Another reader question (actually, more than one person sent emails on this topic):
Should it be compulsory to move out of TaG 125 Restricted after a set number of race meetings?
The 'restricted' 125cc classes were initially set up as a stepping stone to the 'open' TaG classes. At the time, the governing body felt beginners should not be driving karts of the performance of Rotax, Leopard etc. For this beginners class, an exhaust restrictor nobbles performance back to around that of a 100cc Clubman.
Restricted 125 is now pretty popular in most parts of the country, but it's also got a few very experienced drivers grabbing the trophies.
Would forcing drivers to move out of Restricted TaG make the 'open' TaG classes more popular? Or would it drive Restricted drivers away from the sport?
