From Karts to Cars, to Karts and Off to Cars

press release 22 December 2015

In a true showcase of versatility, Jordan Boys has made the switch from karts to cars and back again all within 2 weeks, impressively taking victory in both disciplines in their respective last race of the season.

Fresh from a challenging year of racing in the Rotax Pro Tour DD2 division, where he narrowly missed out on qualifying to represent Team Australia for a second consecutive year, Jordan made the transition to a new challenge in open wheel racing, competing in Formula Ford in a Mygale chassis.

With only limited car racing experience and testing, Jordan has shown he is a force to be reckoned with for 2016, taking podium positions in all his events so far. The most recent was overall victory at the prestigious Island Magic Silver Race event at Phillip Island.

The event celebrated its 25th Anniversary this year and Jordan joined the list of previous Formula Ford winners of the event which includes such greats as Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert. Furthermore, Jordan was able to take the fight to 2013 winner Adrian Lazzaro before a mid-race incident with another competitor eliminated Adrian. This result is incredibly encouraging for Jordan as he moves to compete full time in Formula Ford next  season.

The next weekend marked a return to karts for the inaugural Victorian State Cup held at Jordan’s local track of Albury Wodonga. After having strong pace in practice and qualifying his Praga kart on the front row, Jordan was able to bring the kart home for a win and three second positions in the four races, with these results being enough to secure the Victorian State Cup for TAG Light.

From here Jordan begins his preparations for the new season; this will include vigorous testing of the Formula Ford on its new spec tyre for next season, an intense physical training process to prepare him for the longer races and also working hard behind the scenes to secure sponsors and partners to join the team next year.

Jordan would like to thank his sponsors for all their support: Penrite Oil, CC Racing, Praga Karts, Revolution Racegear, Bell Helmets, Antech Screenprinting, Broken Apparel and Design, Mygale Australia, Fulltilit Motorsports, Albury Automotive, Epic Sports Management, ORG Racegear New Zealand, Lifestyles Industries, Rice Graphic Images, Stean Nicholls Real Estate and Kartequip.

Jordan would also like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and another great year in 2016!
