Australian Drivers Aiming High In Vegas

A large contingent of Australian drivers has arrived in America ahead of the 19th running of the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas this week.
Labelled as the largest karting event in the world, the 2015 event will be contested on a brand-new circuit adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
After finally securing the TaG Masters trophy at last year’s event, multiple-time Australian Champion Kip Foster will be aiming to defend his crown this year.
Foster, who will be joined on the grid by fellow West Aussie Matt Parker, won the 2014 title ahead of IndyCar Champion Will Power.

Having finished on the podium three times in the past five years – including a second place finish by 0.01 seconds in 2010 – David Sera is hoping that 2015 will be his year to claim the biggest prize.
Ben Stewart, who finished fourth in 2014, along with Arrow karts pair Jordi Marcon and Matt Mclean will join Sera in the TaG Senior class – as will recently crowned KF2 Australian Champion Liam McLellan in his JC Kart. Aidan Passmore, Scott Saunders and Luke van Herwaarde will also be on the grid.
Following on from a strong second half of the year in the Australian Kart Championship the CRG pair of Kyle Ensbey and Jaie Robson will complete their season by competing in the elite KZ2 class at the event. Ensbey – a three-time podium finisher in the Australian Championship – will be eyeing off five-time World Champion Davide Forè who he had a titanic battle with at the Race of Stars last month. Jason Faint was very competitive in the 2014 event and is back for more in 2015, this time focusing on the KZ2 class rather than doubling up.
A huge array of Cadet and Junior competitors from Australia will be lining up in the TaG Cadet, TaG Junior and S5 Junior Stock Moto ranks.
In the Cadet class Jaiden Pope and the ever-improving James Wharton will fly the Aussie flag while Joshua Fife, Declan Fraser, Dylan Hollis, Lochie Hughes, Cameron Longmore and Jac Preston are all featured on the entry list in the TaG Junior class. For Hughes and Preston, they have both competed in the event previously while the others will be making their American debut.
The Gasperak brothers, Tomas and Gabriel, will be competing in the S5 Junior Stock Moto class.
Patrizicorse Team Principal Michael Patrizi will be making his first start aboard a kart in more than two years when he competes in the S4 Stock Moto class.
