  • Chassis partner for the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals, Sodi Kart, have supplied 154 karts for this year's running of the famous event. Sodi are supplying 77 karts to DD2 Masters (Sodi DD2 model) and another 77 karts for the Senior MAX field (Sodi Sigma RS). There are also five spare chassis for each category. It is the 6th consecutive year the French manufacturer has supplied chassis for the RMCGF. In total, over three tons of metal, 500 metres of tube and 250m of welding were used. "The transport of the equipment alone required five articulated lorries and two support vehicles" Sodi advised. A dozen people are on hand to manage logistics, customer service and tech suppport.

  • BENIK Kart Australia have two available spots in their team for the Victorian Cup meeting at Albury Wodonga next month (Dec 5 & 6). For a small chassis lease fee, "come and race and experience what everyone has been talking about the BENIK Missile" the team advised.   • Speaking of Benik, in 2016 they will have a United States Formula 4 team in partnership with the UK-based Carlin Motorsport. "We see this as a step up the ladder for our kart team," said Nick Mitchell, co-owner of Benik Kart. Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel, Will Power and Nico Rosberg are all former Carlin drivers. "We hope that, with Carlin behind us, we will be able to launch the careers of tomorrow's open wheel racing champions."


  • Free tyres for pre-entries at the Vic Cup - The Albury Wodonga Kart Club, in conjunction with Remo Racing and Dunlop Kartsport, is offering one set of free tyres for each class that will be run at the Vic State Cup. "All those who have pre-entered by close of entries will go into a random draw for these tyres" the club advised KartSportNews. The winners will be notified before the event (probably via kartbook and KartSportNews) and the tyres can be collected upon arrival at the track. entries close Monday, Nov 23. Supp Regs HERE.



  • Arrow racer Matthew McLean is racing at the SKUSA Supernationals XIX next week, and has set up a GoFundMe and sponsorship campaign to help get him stateside. "This will not only be my debut in overseas competition, but also my debut in the 125cc TaG category" Matt said. Matt will compete with top American team, KartSport North America, and use an Arrow CIK Vegas chassis with IAME X30 engine. "This wouldn’t be possible without the help of DPE Kart Technology and my newly formed partnership with an upcoming motorsport graphic designer, 'thydesigns'. Though these guys have helped a lot, I still need help to get me across the finish line!   • PatriziCorse has announced that Troy Loeskow is confirmed with the Birel ART Oceania Factory racing team and will return aboard a Ricciardo Kart for the 2016 Karting Australia KZ2 championship, plus the Rotax Pro Tour in DD2. "After a successful rookie year in KZ2, we are lifting our goals much higher for next year and hoping to be strong contenders for the 2016 championship" Loeskow said. "Our main focus for next year will be KZ, however we are also planning on making an appearance in DD2 in the Rotax series as well. The KZ experience should be valuable for this class."

  • The CIKFIA has advised (again) that the homologation process for the new OK and OK-Junior engines is underway and will be completed in December 2015. "The engines, ignitions and carburetors will be approved for a period of nine years from 1st January 2016, after 50 OK and 50 OK-Junior engines have been submitted by each manufacturer during the inspection visit" a statement said. "The start of public sale and delivery of the new engines will be at the end of the homologation process after mid-December 2015." Six brands have applied for homologation in OK and OK-Junior: REXON Motors (Karlheinz Hahn), Vortex (OTK Kart Group), Parilla (IAME), TE (Tenciengines), TM Racing (TM Racing) and LKE (Lenzokart).

  • Industry: French manufacturer Alpha Karting has appointed Damz Inc. to manage the importation and distribution of Alpha Karting products in North America. Based in Houston, Texas, "Alpha Kart USA by Damz Inc" will field entries in KF and KZ in the key US races, commencing with the upcoming Supernationals in Vegas.
