X30 Junior (13-15 years old)

The best Junior driver so far is David Malukas who travelled from the USA to set pole position and win two heats out of two at the wheel of his BirelART chassis. Brandon Lemke, also from the United States of America, Milane Pételet from France, Ugo de Wilde from Belgium and four British drivers (Tom Wood, Alfie Brown, Callum Bradsham, Ben Wooldridge) are the other members of the heat winners club.

  • Aussie Update: Jordyn Sinni - Q17th (group 3), H1 - 8th, H2 - 8th
  • Aussie Update: Jesse Thomas - Q22nd (group 3), H1 - 31st, H2 - 13th(?)

X30 Senior (15 years old and over)

In this class, several drivers proved competitive around the 1384-meter track. Belgian polesitter Maxime Drion came home 1st once and 2nd twice and also recorded a 7th position in his second heat of the day, but he was satisfied overall. Frenchman François-Xavier Venet (Kosmic) and Vincent Fraïsse (Sodi) have had ups and downs but were the only drivers to win twice. Unfortunately last year’s winner François Bécamel retired from the meeting.

  • Aussie Update: Adam Levi - Q16th (group 4), H1 - 8th, H2 - 14th, H3 - 27th
  • Aussie Update: Paul Pittam - Q excluded (group 2), H1 - 26th, H2 - 13th, H3 - 18th, H4 - 18th

Above: Paul Pittam was excluded from qualifying for a fuel infringement and is forced to start last in his heat races. "Team buys wrong fuel for whole team, 95 octane instead of 98" Rob Pittam wrote on Facebook. "Paul gets tested after qualifying 7th in his group. (Would have) qualified 26th or 27th over all out of 130 odd karts."

X30 Master (30 years old and over / Veterans: 45 years and over)

Briton Graham Hill and Australian Kip Foster who were crowned equal last year in the Master category took a win and a second place respectively today. Jeremy Peclers from Belgium was impressive, scoring a 1st and a 2nd place, while Gary Turkington won once. The favourites for the inaugural X30 Veteran title are Tino Donadei, Christophe Adams, Pierre Allemand and Jacky Foulatier.

  • Aussie Update: Kip Foster - Q3rd (group 2), H1 - 2nd

X30 Super Shifter (gearbox 175cc karts, drivers 15 years old and over)

Top Kart Italian driver Matteo Vigano set pole ahead of Sean Babington but the UAE driver is the provisional leader in the X30 Super Shifter category as he recorded a 1st and a 2nd-place finish. Portuguese Henrique Chaves won the second heat after failing to finish in the first one.

Qualifying heats will resume on Saturday to determine the list of the drivers qualified for the finals.
