New Driver & Karts for Williams Racing At Superkart Championship Opener

Williams Racing heads to Sydney Motorsports Park this weekend for the first round of the Shannon’s Nationals 2015 Australian Superkart Championships. 

With a brand new driver and kart combination, along with continued engine development by PowerFlow, the team has high hopes of challenging for the 250cc National Title after coming close in previous seasons.

Ex-CIK Stars of Karting regular frontrunner Jordan Ford joins the team in a newly acquired ex-Gavin Bennett, Factory Anderson Kart powered by Yamaha for his Shannon’s Nationals debut.

Ford has been getting acquainted with the new kart and has been setting impressive times in club day events, including nearly breaking the existing class lap record at Sydney Motorsport Park back in May.

Veteran driver Dale Williams returns in his familiar #21 kart, for what may be his final championship tilt in Superkarts and is looking to improve on his third place standing in the championship last year. While the race number may be the same, Dale has switched all his running gear to a latest spec long wheelbase Anderson chassis also to provide setup consistency between both karts.

For the Championships second round at Phillip Island in September, the team will expand to include third generation karter Tyler Williams, who impressed in a recent debut at club level.

Williams Racing would like to welcome new sponsors Burbank Homes and Peter Ford Catering for their title tilt with their ongoing support greatly appreciated. Slipstream Signs, Yamaha and Dunlop Kartsport will continue their association again this year.
