  25 June 2015

Patrik Hájek and American driver Gary Carlton have joined Formula K Srl. In addition to driving in KZ, Carlton will also be the Sales Director of Formula K. Carlton's duties in the Formula K outfit will include the establishment of an official Formula K Rotax Team.

"This is great news" Formula K Australia's boss Jace Lindstrom. told KartSportNews.

"Hopefully this will put a stop to the rumours being spread by jealous individuals to try and tarnish the Formula K brand in Australia. I suppose if certain manufacturers aren't getting results in Australia, they try and shift the pressure off them and onto others. In our case, all we keep doing is either winning or getting podiums so I suppose it has back fired on those people now this statement has been released explaining the growth in the Formula K brand in the next few years.

"We can all move forward and keeping dominating the DD2 and TAG classes around Australia as we have been doing this year and especially the last few months. The future is strong for the Formula K brand in Australia and world wide."

FK press release

Thanks to the new co-operation between Praga and Formula K, the Praga élite KZ driver Patrik Hájek is going to change color of his racing suit and starting the next race in the black and green. CIK FIA European Championship in Genk will therefore offer a fight between Patrik Hájek on Formula K and Jonathan Thonon on Praga.

Praga, Formula K and OK1 are three karting brands produced in the innovative kart factory IPK which wants to offer a range of diversified high quality products, but at the same time wants to keep the racing rivalry between professional teams of these brands.

As Daniel Sliva the chairman of the Board of IPKarting s.r.l. says:

“In motorsport it is the passion, human effort and innovation that are a base of progress, and because journey to success is our goal, we believe that the healthy rivalry between our brands helps to bring innovation and offer higher quality products and great race results.”

Here is what Patrik Hájek has to say about this challenging team change:

“My co-operation with Praga is full of great chances for me as well as for whole IPK factory Group ; I won’t only get more driving opportunities but I will also play on the awesome possibility to cross-test, compare and fine tune both Praga and FK chassis in racing conditions.“
