NSW Championship Round 2 Info

press release 4 June 2015

Round Two of the NSW Kart Championship will be hosted by the Dubbo Kart Club on June 20/21.

If the racing at the opening round is anything to go by, this event will produce some spectacular racing on one of the country’s top circuits.

The format has also been altered since the opening round to incorporate three heat races and a Final.

Rotax MAX Euro Challenge Series leader Pierce Lehane returns to Australia this week and will be in action in TaG Light at the event.  With a massive year both here in Australia and overseas for Lehane the question remains is there be someone who can take this young star on.

A huge field of Junior National Light drivers assembled for the opening round and Round Two should be similar. Round one showed that NSW has some of the toughest Junior drivers in the country with Tyler Everingham taking a storming victory after starting from the back of the pack.  With a strong showing in the heat races Oscar Priest leads the standings in the class, one point clear of Cody Burcher and Lewis Hodgson.  Everingham is fourth.

2015 marks the first time Restricted 125 drivers are eligible to compete for State honours and the question will be is anyone can stop the dominance of Kyle Sandona and Phillip Curran in the Light and Heavy classes respectively.

In an added bonus for competitors in the Clubman and National classes, Sydney Kart Racing Club are offering a $200 prize for the first drivers using a Yamaha in each Clubman and National Class.

The hotly contested Junior Clubman will have even more to race for with the Round winner receiving a set of MG tyres.  The Champion, Runner-up and third place will also receive a $500, $300 and $200 IAME gift voucher respectively.  There will also be a random draw for a set of MG tyres at each round.
