Preview: Cool Drive Junior Super Series, Rnd 3

press release 13 May 2015

The Gosford Showground is set to come alive again this Sunday as 20-plus Junior drivers converge on the venue to contest the running of round 3 of the “Cool Drive Junior Super Series”, presented by Danny’s Electrical and Electronics.

After the fantastic Double header start to the series 3 weeks ago, drivers have had time to evaluate their first 2 rounds and reset their goals leading into this weekends round.

Following the first 2 rounds Jake Donaldson came away from the weekend with the early points lead set up from his 1st place finish in round 1 and his second place in round 2, however he is only 6 points clear of Andrew Sayre who had the reverse finishes of Jake with a 2nd and a 1st place finishes.

Whilst these 2 drivers lead the way there is a pack of talented drivers breathing down on them with Liam Camilleri and Kaidon Brown locked together on points in 3rd place only 8 points behind Andrew and then only 16 points cover Kyle Mock , Bailey Goodwin , Brittany Hickey , the Blanch Brothers Zak and David and Brandon Moore who all round out the top 10 positions.

In the first 2 rounds drivers experienced a night race to open the series and a day time race the next day which was a tough assignment for these young drivers who all handled it with maturity above their years.

On Sunday they will all be back in action to again do their very best and show everyone just how much future talent is coming thru the ranks of speedway.

The Gosford Showground has a track density of 16 karts so drivers will be seeded into heats and compete in three heats to gain as many points as possible.

Once the points gained through the heats have been tallied, the top 16 drivers will qualify into the A Main event and the balance of drivers will compete in “The Graeme Gillespie Shootout”

All these young drivers will therefore be given the opportunity to feel the involvement of a real speedway race meeting where every point counts to qualify into the A Main event.

This will ensure that the racing from these talented young men and women will be hard, fast and fair in the heats and the A Main will see the top point scorers come from the rear of the pack which will be a great spectacle as they negotiate traffic to get to the front of the field.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 10am and will be conducted at the Gosford Showground on Showground Road, West Gosford. Full canteen facilities are available during the day to cater for all your needs.

The Series organisers would like to thank the committee of the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club for allowing the Cool Drive Junior Super Series to run as part of their race meeting. The meeting is proudly sponsored by Danny’s Electrical and Electronics.
