Outlaw Shootout Series, Round 1

The opening round of the inaugural “Outlaw Shootout Series” at Busselton Dirt Kart Club on February 14 has been run and won recently with National and State Champion James Inglis again displaying his superiority of the class.

Spread over four rounds between Busselton, Wagin and the Dirt Trackers track in Perth, the series has returned the class back to having great fields again with the bonus of drawing more newcomers into the sport as evidenced by seven P-Platers at the opening round in the strong seventeen kart field.

James Inglis passed his father Stuart to win the opening Heat race then followed that up with another empathic victory in race two after a massive accident involving half the field on lap two.

Another win in Heat three over his father Stuart again was followed by only a second place in a dramatic Heat four that was red flagged by a scary incident involving a stationary Stephen Tull and some frontrunners. Chez Morgani was declared the winner.

The Final was another Inglis quinella with James first across the line followed by Stuart Inglis, Morgani, Geoff Evans and Peter Pilmer.

Round Two of the series heads to Perth at the Dirt Trackers Kart Club on the 22 March.
