Rotax Rookies For Top Gun Team

The TopGun Racing team will begin its campaign in the 2015 Australian karting season at the opening event of the Rotax Pro Tour in Melbourne, Victoria this weekend.
The new team of drivers are all making their debut in the seven-event Pro Tour and are expecting a steep learning curve as they come to grips with the characteristics of the 125cc Rotax engine.
TopGun Racing Team Manager Troy Hunt believes the new team structure are ready to return as one of forces at the top of Australian karting.
“I’m really looking forward to this year working with a group of young and enthusiastic drivers. It will certainly be a challenge with all our drivers racing Rotax for their first time but with our experience and ability to get the most out of our drivers I’m sure results won’t be far away,” said Hunt.
“We are realistic it wont be easy but I do hope to have them fighting for podiums and race wins as soon as possible.”
The MiniMax class will be making its debut in the Rotax Pro Tour in 2015. TopGun will be fielding Jackson Walls in his Objective-sponsored Ricciardo Kart and Bailey Hazard in his HD Projects Top Kart. Both young drivers are looking forward to their new challenge ahead and are enjoying their extra grip and speed they get to use for the first time. Jackson and Taylor have taken a very focussed approach to now compete at this level.
The TopGun team will field three drivers in the Junior Max Trophy Class where again all drivers will be making their Rotax debut - Tyler Howard in his Intrepid with support from the Dentman, Taylor Hazard in Intrepid with support from HD Projects and Reece Cohen also in Intrepid with support from DMC Security all three drivers are confident on really making an impact on this class. Less than 12 months ago these three boys were all in Cadet 12 but Hunt is confident in their ability and hope to get some great results.
With more 60 entries Junior Rotax is going to be extremely competitive this weekend. TopGun will be fielding two drivers with Hayden Cox and Cody Brewcyznski both making their debuts. Cox knows he has a challenge ahead of him but is willing to learn and try get amongst it and surprise a few people in his Tony Kart. Brewcyznski has enjoyed some great results in other categories but is well aware of the new challenge he faces this year in his Hornsby Differentials-backed Redspeed. With some experience under his belt in the higher-powered machine, he should be fighting for podiums and race wins at some point throughout the year.
