The Queensland Superkart Club conducted round 4 of the 2019 series on the National circuit at Ipswich last weekend.

Unfortunately a depleted field of 250 Nats for this round with both Crisps tied up with work. Tim and Steve put on a show at the front particularly in race 4 where there was at least 1 pass every lap! It would come down to the last race which Tim managed to grab the win after some tight racing early on.
125 National
1st Alex Hussey
2nd Darryl Bertram
3rd Scott Jamieson
A mixed bag of results in this class with championship leader Jon Bothamely suffering 3 DNFs as a result of a broken pipe and other issues which saw him miss out on the podium. Scott Jamieson showed glimpses of speed but also unreliability that saw him confined to the last step on the podium.
Darryl Bertram was getting back into the groove of things after a lengthy holiday in the states. Some small teething issues he has to sort before Rd 5! Alex Hussey again proved that to finish first, first you have to finish! Mr consistency takes home the top prize again as well as the lead in the championship.

David Dyson is loving his new kart putting it to good use clean sweeping the weekend from championship leader Nick Marshall who’s lead is slowly decreasing. Can David catch him before the year is out? Paul Prineas picked up third overall having some good battles with the 85’s and TaG Lights.

The racing was fierce all weekend, Leighton leading multiples times during the weekend but when the chequered flag flew it was always Peter Nuske in front. Ben had an up and down weekend with a holed radiator and flat battery halting his progress towards the front.
85cc Gearbox

Bit of a war of attrition in the 85s this weekend. Championship leader Bayley Douglas and rival Jack Westbury were out before the weekend even started. Drene Jamieson had issue after issue that saw him fail to finish any races.
New kid on the block Coby (who came from the Formula Junior test days) took it all in his stride though and picked up the class win on debut from returning member Ben Smith.
