Round 4 of the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club was run and won this last weekend at Gosford Showground.
Thanks to all our Volunteers and Officials on the day, behind the scenes, on the BBQ, in the pits and on the track.
The atmosphere on the day was competitive but lots of fun with many a new recruit suiting up for their first race day. Welcome to the dirt racing family!
In KT Modified Heavy we had A Redding, C Dormer and M Elliott battling it out, with each of them scoring at least one win each in the heats but two wins secured first place for Redding, Elliott in second and Dormer in third for the day. We also had K Brown and P Morris giving us an amazing performance in the Pro Open class.
Juniors had a healthy class with seven entries. They also shared the wins around, with newcomer to the class J Hensby taking out two heats, J Garland and C Jones each sharing a win. And this was exactly reflected in the podium at the end of the day. 1st Hensby – welcome to Juniors, 2nd Garland and 3rd to Jones. This writer found this class one of most exciting to watch with some amazing young talent on the rise.

KT Modified Light had a clean streak for N Thompson winning all four heats to take out the number one podium position for the day. S Morley took out second place after crossing with three 2nd places and one 3rd. Newcomer, B Hutchings, showed us all what is achievable. His first time in a race meeting, in a kart he only bought last week, taking out 3rd place on the podium.
Girl Power reigned with R Garland’s win in Novice class. Garland convincingly took first place honours from the boys with T Teodorovic in second and the ever improving I Hensby in third place. This class were all smiles of support for Garland with her first overall win in the sport.
KT Standard Heavy saw S Hosie with bad luck in Heat 1 but a healthy battle ensued then with J Brien with each scoring two wins each. This class is growing stronger each round with a total of seven competitors at this event. Podium 1st J Brien, 2nd S Hosie and 3rd A Matthews.
In Rookies, J Bisset took out honours for the day after three heat wins, with the feature race going to Z Rainey. D Kelly was always close behind in the top three of each heat. Podium 1st J Bisset, 2nd Z Rainey, 3rd D Kelly.
Last in the race order for the day was our entertainers in KT Modified Super Heavy. A Ball did not disappoint taking out three wins with the feature deservedly taken by M Stewart. Podium 1st A Ball, 2nd C McCarthy, 3rd P Farrow.
