Rachelle is the founder of the Women’s Motorsport Development Program, which is a program Rachelle created in 2016 and remains the only program of its kind in Australia. The program covers all aspects of grassroots motorsport from four motorsport disciplines and is designed to take the intimidation out of motorsport for women.

Rachelle is also an active motorsport competitor where she competes in supersprints, regularity and hillclimb events. She is passionate about increasing female participation in all genres of motorsport and is about to launch a merchandise line and networking community for women and girls in circuit racing, drags, rallying, bikes and karting.

Rachelle is a former member of Women of Australian Motorsport (WAMS) and NSW Road Racing Club. She is currently a Director of the Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC), who manages Sydney Motorsport Park.

Rachelle’s appointment fills the casual vacancy created when Andy Tikehurst resigned from the board last month. The Board wishes to take the opportunity to thank Andy for his enthusiasm and contributions made during his tenure on the board.

Chairman Dave Filipetto says “We welcome Rachelle’s depth of marketing experience within motorsport at a time when KNSW Clubs are starting to enjoy increased participation numbers across the State. Rachelle’s appointment is also strategically aligned with the NSW Office of Sports’ Governance Capability Framework released in April 2018.”

Karting (New South Wales) Inc was established in 1987. The Board of KNSW comprises: David Filpetto (Chair); Ilona Alsters, Brian Appeldoorn, Craig Sargent, Tom Nipperess, Jon Mills and Rachelle Wilson.
