Last Minute Location Change for AKRA Nationals

With just eight days to go before racing commences, AKRA has advised it has had to re-locate it’s Easter Australian National Championship event.

The organisation has moved the event from Orange to its ‘home’ track at Wollongong.

“Red tape has popped up in the last few days that has put the whole event at risk” Troy Boldy from AKRA said.

“We were trying to help the Orange Kart Club get some extra karters back to that great track but for some last minute red tape issues, it was best to move the event to the popular Kembla Grange Track at Wollongong.

“It really is unfortunate and it’s no ones fault, but the risk was too high for a total cancellation of the meeting mid to late next week.

“AKRA would still like very much to have a major event at Orange in the future, maybe later this year, but the tough decision (for the Nationals) had to be made now.”

As such, AKRA’s Easter Nats meeting will now be held at Kembla Grange Track, Wollongong on Easter Saturday April 20th.

Entries received so far will all be transferred over to Wollongong Kart Raceway. Questions should be directed to Wollongong Kart Raceway on 02 9138 7610, or email austkartracer@gmail.com
