Track extension work will officially commence at the Canberra track on January 11.
The Harrington Doyle Racing Arrow Karts team will not contest this year’s Australian Kart Championship. The team posted on social media that due to work, building & relocation commitments, “we’ve made a decision not to contest the 2019 AKC Series or the QKC. We are currently exploring and considering new future regional Motorsport opportunities in Bundaberg / Fraser Coast regions.”
$10,000!! That’s the prize pool for TaG Senior at the 4-Hour Enduro at Todd Rd at the end of this year. “After a hugely successful first edition back, Shamick Racing have come back onboard and doubled their previous sponsorship for TaG Senior” Dave Sera posted on social media. “We are already working hard behind the scenes to make this years rendition improved on 2018.”
Retro Karting Australia has announced MIR Raceline Australia as its 2019 Series Partner. Muranno Group (the company that holds the Australian distribution of Panta Racing Fuel) is relaunching the iconic brand here in Australia. The RKA deal will see an MIR pack raffled at each of the four rounds. It will include an MIR Gear Bag, set of tyre covers, a Kart Cover and an MIR Tyre Bag. There will also be an end-of-year “MIR Spirit Of RKA” award at the final round, comprising a complete MIR racing package (custom race suit, boots and gloves).

F1 driver Charles Leclerc tested with the Birel ART team at South Garda Karting in Lonato prior to Christmas. The 2019 Scuderia Ferrari driver met Birel ART’s Team Manager Davide Foré and the Red Army staff to finish off the team’s track activity for 2018.
Vale – Adam Nicolls. Townsville Kart Club: “We are sending our thoughts and deepest condolences to the family of Adam Nicolls, who sadly passed away on the 31st December 2018. Adam was a long time member of the Townsville Kart Club, a driver, a supporter, a volunteer, a sponsor and a friend to many of us over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family to get through this tough time. Adams family have asked if friends and family would like to attend a celebration of Adam’s life on Friday 11th January at 10.00am at Morleys Funeral home at the Lakes Chapel.
