As the recipients of the $50,000 in prizes continue to receive their deliveries from the 2018 SP Tools Club Driver Rankings, plans are well underway for an even bigger year in 2019.

Designed for the Club Level Racer, the SP Tools Club Driver Rankings has allowed participants to ‘race locally and rank nationally’ throughout the year.

“When we launched the SP Tools Club Driver Rankings, it was designed to reward the competitors at the grassroots of our sport – and it has certainly achieved that,” said Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly.

“Thanks to our great partners, we’ve been able to share with the participants $50,000 in prizes in the end of year prize pool, along with thousands of mid year prizes that were also distributed.

“We look forward to an even bigger year in 2019. There will be a major announcement early next year that will be sure to create excitement for competitors across the country.”

For SP Tools Managing Director, Kevin Davis, the Club Driver Rankings is a program that he and his company are very proud to be a part of.

“SP Tools has a rich history in Australian motorsport. We have achieved a lot, and that is very fulfilling, but to be so heavily involved in the development of grassroots karting and giving back where we can, is very rewarding and something that we’re very proud of,” said Davis.

“We are really looking forward to being apart of the program again in 2019 and are working closely with Karting Australia to make it even bigger and better.”

With a full year of results to assess, the points algorithm for 2019 will be slightly adjusted to equalise the difference between the large and small clubs across the country.

A driver’s best six point scoring events at a maximum of eight events hosted by an individual club (or group of clubs) will once again decide the final standings. The competition season will run from 1 January 2019 through until 30 September 2019.

Recently, a new Facebook page (www.facebook.com/clubdriverrankings/) was launched to further the experience for the drivers competing in the SP Tools Club Driver Rankings. Throughout 2019, this will be regularly updated with information surrounding the Rankings.

Similar to 2018, there are a number of smaller clubs that have been ‘grouped’ together for the purpose of the rankings, a full list of the clubs that are scheduled to host Club Driver Rankings events in 2019 can be found below.
