Kartsport SA Nominate Rubber

Kartsport SA (as opposed to Karting SA) has listed changes to tyre choice for its opening event in 2019 (Barossa on February 2).

The organisation said that tyres were the only major rule change from this year to next, slotting in the Maxxis Sport as an option for all the Kartsport SA classes.

“TaG Restricted and TaG classes are still able to run DFM and MG Yellows respectively, and 4SS can also run the Vega alongside the Maxxis” Kartsport SA posted.

“As these classes are some of the most supported classes in karting in SA at the moment, the decision was made to allow these tyres so drivers can easily run between the two active karting associations in SA.”

“Please keep in mind our rules are flexible and your feedback is important to us. For example, if karters running with Kartsport SA aren’t enjoying running mixed tyres in the TaG classes, we can change it. Nothing is locked in and we are more than happy to listen to your feedback and make the changes you want.”

Karting Victoria is expected to go public with some changes for 2019 in the next few days.
