New Kart Club For South Australia?

A Facebook page has surfaced claiming to be a new karting club for South Australia that wants to run events in that state.

“Our goal is to offer kart racing that is enjoyable” the organisation posted.

“The first race meeting is now booked at the Barossa kart raceway on Saturday September 1st… fingers crossed all the approvals are in place to allow for this to go ahead.

“Our committee have many years of experience running karting events and clubs, and also as competitors. We hope to bring all the good parts of our sport back together and offer events that people will want to be a part of.”

When contacted by KartSportNews, the group did not yet wish to divulge who comprised the committee, or a contact phone number.

However, they did tell us they’re working on the class structure and rules right now and “should have more info to release in 10 to 14 days”.

The group believes that with many of the current clubs locked into agreements with Karting Australia, the future is not looking too rosy for karting in the Festival State as these clubs are unable to take any other direction.

“We are offering competition that is hopefully fun and enjoyable and tailored specifically to South Australian karters needs, both past and present.

“Anyone will be able to race, membership is free and we offer our own licensing, so recreational karters, dirt karters and regular bitumen karters will all be welcome to join in the fun.”
