BRP-Rotax has announced new distributors for the North American market. Effective immediately, J3 Competition and RTX USA Group have taken over managing the north and south regions respectively, as per the below state-by-state breakup. The two companies will work in alliance to service and develop the Rotax customer base, plus build the participation of the Rotax MAX Challenge race series throughout the U.S.A. Rotax thanked the Canadian distributor (SRA Karting) for looking after the US market on an interim basis. SRA Karting will still support the upcoming Rotax US Grand Nationals & US Open of New Jersey July 4-8, but both J3 Competition and RTX USA Group team members will be trackside to support their local competitors.

The International Karting Federation has cancelled this years Grand Nationals. The IKF stated it pulled the plug on the 2-Cycle and 4-Cycle Grand Nationals, scheduled for June 27-30 in Denton, Texas, due to a lack of entries to justify a national race. “We are as disheartened about this as the drivers who have already registered and anyone else planning on attending” the IKF stated. “But, facing low racer interest with only 20 drivers registering in 26 different classes, the NTK board of directors unanimously voted to cancel the event. Any fees paid will be refunded in full.”
