Pro Tour Targets Tailem Bend

Round 6 of the 2018 Rotax Pro Tour is currently intended to be conducted in South Australia on September 14-16.

The intended venue is The Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend, located South East of Adelaide.

The karting track is planned to be of an International CIK standard and we are expecting that it will be a first class facility.

The complex is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in early 2018. It is a completely new motorsport facility built to a standard which Australia has not seen before. It includes multiple car racing tracks – five in all, karting track, drag strip, drifting facility and an onsite hotel and various other amenities.

Supercars have included the The Bend Motorsport Park on their 2018 calendar for August 24-26.

We have not officially announced the venue for a number of reasons:

  • It is still under construction and Karting Australia can only approve the track once it is completed;
  • We are working with a South Australian Club to organise the race meeting; and
  • We are working with the owners of the facility to ensure that the event will come together as required.

We are not expecting any problems and with several other events already planned at The Bend Motorsport Park for 2018, including the Supercars event at the complex in the month before Pro Tour, we are very confident that everything should go ahead as planned. They are well on track with their build program.

Current reports are that if the karting track is anywhere near the same standard as the main tracks that are nearing completion, it will be an amazing facility.

Take a look for yourself at The Bend Motorsport Park website to see this exciting new track that is coming soon www.thebend.com.au
