Spring Race Day at Orange

by Matthew Hansford-Taylor (Cadet 12)

The first race day of spring for Orange Kart Club was a Club day on the C track.

Good fields of Cadets, Juniors and Seniors raced in various classes. The day started cool and clear but rain would threaten later in the day…

In the Cadet 9, Regie Barry took a clean sweep of the weekend in his Dino 900. Connor and Riley Blaxell battled all weekend for 2nd and 3rd with Connor taking second from his brother. In 4th was new karting recruit from dirt racing Ben Angilley chasing all weekend with his Comer.

Matthew Hansford-Taylor (97) and Hayden Crossland (7) on the front row of Cadets ahead of Ryan Kennedy (30), Reg Barry (2), Riley Blaxwell (14) and Connor Blaxell (88)

Awesome racing in the Cadet 12 class. Heat 1 going to Ryan Kennedy, Matthew Hansford-Taylor taking out Heat 2 and Hayden Crossland taking out Heat 3 and 4 and the Final. At the end of the weekend it was Hayden Crossland taking out the weekend from Ryan and Matthew, but close clean racing across the class.

KA4 Junior Light and Heavy Class were combined and a provided good close racing. Henry Mclandsborough in his first race as a Junior took the first heat in the Gillard 101. Lachlan Campbell took out heat 2 and 3 and at the end of the weekend it was Brendon Collins, from Campbell and Henry Mclandsborough 3rd with Oliver Mclandsborough 4th. In Heavy it was William Schmarr who took out the weekend.
