DAN RIC-KARTS – Daniel Ricciardo participated in a Ricciardo Kart PR event at the 7 Laghi Kart circuit in Italy just prior to the Italian Grand Prix. TEAM/DEALER PR – Woodgate Racing enjoyed a bunch of podium placings at the 2017 National Festival of Superkarts at Phillip Island recently. In the Stock Honda class, Tim Clarke and Kieran Morling took 2nd and 3rd, while Jamie MacDonald was 3rd in the super fast 250 International class. In Rotax Light, Woodgate drivers scored a one-two (Russ Occhipinti 1st, Mark Vickers travelling from NSW for 2nd) while in Heavy Rod Clarke was 3rd and Bobby Jane 4th.

“It was a good meeting, and a big meeting” Peter Woodgate said. “I have to thank all of my customers who have done pretty well so far this year.”


ROK CUP CANCELLED – The ROK Cup USA National Final has been cancelled. With Hurricane Irma threatening danger to Florida, organisers decided to cancel the September 15-17 event. “This is a heartbreaking decision for us…, but we need to take in account the safety of everyone involved” stated Garett Potter, ROK Cup USA Director of Operations.  The event will not be rescheduled. ROK International Final tickets will be awarded to the current championship leaders:

F1 KARTERS – Formula One drivers took on Euro footballers at the Monza Grand Prix circuit (well, the front straight) in rental karts in the lead up to the GP:


BIG RIGS – An Ohio transport company is about to offer transportation services to American karters. With some competitors having so much equipment that needs to be hauled from one go kart track to another, Checkered Express Inc (CEI) believe there is a market for such a service. “As a team owner of Checkered Motorsports, we know what it takes to operate a racing team with a hauler/truck and trailer combination,” CEI owner Csaba Bujdoso said. “A team’s major expense is in their travel costs and we are looking to help them reduce time, effort and cost in going from track to track. We take care of the hassle.”

TITLE RE-RUN – There have been many kart number changes for the re-run of AIDKA’s 2016 Australian Titles. Entrants are urged to check their details on the associations site. “If you are not happy with the number selected, please email so we can negotiate – secretary@aidka.com.au” The re-running takes place at Yorke Pennisula Dirt Kart Club from Friday 29th September to Sunday 1st October 2017. Monday October 2 is the reserved rain day if required.


INFO POSTERS – Which events will you race?

Mount Gambier Kart Club will host the South Australian State Cup (above) on the first weekend of November. This is a ‘black plate’ event located half way between Adelaide and Melbourne. The club’s October 29 race day will be a shakedown meeting. The track will  close at the conclusion of racing on the 29th and reopened on Friday 3rd of November for SA Cup entrants to setup. Pit spaces will be allocated and trailers and tents will not be permitted to be left on the premises in the week leading into the event. Trade Sites are available.
