SERA Set For September; Will Include Race Suit

The X5 SERA kart is set for official release in September and each kart will include a new SERA-branded race suit as part of the deal.

David Sera confirmed these details in his latest newsletter where he outlined development progress on the new X5 CIK model.

The new branding for David Sera’s kart

“This chassis has been testing in KA3, TAG, X30 & Rotax and achieved some fantastic results including a couple of round wins in the Australian Kart Championship & Victorian State Round” he wrote.

“To enable a user friendly chassis for our drivers we’ve driven the kart on MG Yellows, Mojo and Dunlop DFM tyres which has given us extensive knowledge of what’s required to suit our market.”

Sera acknowledged some “up & down results to date”, but explained that’s due to having to test parts and setups during a race event as this is the best time to evaluate things.

“We’ve had a huge response in pre-orders for the kart and with the name change from Deadly to Sera, that’s also given us some momentum moving forward” he confirmed.

DPE/Sera will contest the final round of the AKC Championship at Todd Road before the expected release date in the middle of September after which “drivers will be receiving their package which includes a suit.”

In the latest Deadly newsletter Dave talks about reasons for the name change (“I wanted to incorporate my surname into the brand as it’s been synonymous within the karting industry for nearly three decades…”) and a “What we’ve learnt so far in 2017” dossier (includes qualifying, consistency and thoughts on a few drivers in the AKC).
