With a week to go excitement and support is still growing for the 2017 National Festival of Superkarts being held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit.

At Press time we have entrants from four States – WA, NSW, QLD, and SA. The big names of our Sport will be there; Pegoraro, Stevens, Jamieson, Hanson, Stebbing, Harpas and more in what could possibly be the biggest field of 250 Internationals seen in quite some time, all out to better Jamieson’s lap record of 1:28.4199.

The 250 Nationals will not disappoint with current European Championship leader Jordan Ford back from Assen and determined to stay ahead of team mate Tyler Williams and hold off the likes of Lewis and McLaren.

125cc Gearbox see the return of retired driver John (Mick) Bakker who will mix it with the likes of Robin, Cogger, Latta and Jones.

Stock Honda will present well with close racing assured between Fooks, Morling, Clarke, Ruprecht and Gorman amongst others.

Non-Gearbox Light, or Rotax, will also be close and hard to call. Expect to see the names of Occhipinti, Perrera, Gorman, Vickers and Pin to figure in the results.

Non-Gearbox Heavy (Rotax) will be a tough one too with strong rivalry between Victoria and South Australia to be on show. Far too hard to estimate the final outcome in this field of 15, but the names Dodge, Jane, Sanfilippo, Murphy, Clarke, Williams and Stillwell will be up there somewhere.

The event is over two days as part of August Access. Unfortunately it is not open to spectators, though good views can be had from the end of Gap Road.

Final entries must close Wednesday August 16 and the Queensland, South Australian and Victorian Superkart Clubs thank everyone for their support.
