Each year the Coffs Harbour Kart Club runs an auction at the presentation dinner of the Australian Kart Masters (nee, Over 40s Titles) to help raise funds for the club. With that meeting rained out a couple of weeks ago, this year’s dinner and auction was cancelled. However, “we still have the items to auction off” the club’s Troy Brown told KartSportNews. These include an Arrow chassis, two Rotax engines, an X30, KA100, and lots of sets of Dunlop and MG tyres. “A silent auction will be run. If you’d like to make a bid please click on the desired item and make a bid.” Full information about the auction, the items and how to make a bid are on the club’s website HERE.  Winners will be announced on 31st July 2017.

The Phil Goss memorial will once again run in 2017 to respect the passing of long time Launceston Kart Club member and champion bloke, Phil Goss. The Over 40s class in which Phil competed will be the final race on the programme this Saturday, July 1st, with a one-off 20-lap feature race, with the winner using the old Yamaha ‘J engine. A number of competitors will be keen to add their name to the trophy including locals Freddy Cocca, Scott Wrigley and Jonathan Males. In the KA3 Clubman Cup classes, a solid contingent of competitors have entered with a number of drivers in contention for the win. KA3 Junior looks like a battle between Tate Frost and Lochie Dalton, but a surprise could be on the cards with Connor Griffin, Brock Lamont and Kiana Toon all capable of standing on the top step of the podium. In KA3 Senior Light, Nathan Zuj looks the man to beat but will also need to be at his best to hold out a fleet of youngsters in Keenan Slater, Ellis Dickenson and fast fem Leah Beechey. KA3 Senior Medium looks to have a number of drivers keen to take the cup home, Zane Wyatt, Murray Dadson, Steven Wrigley, Alastair Lee and Kurtis Love all good enough to win on the day. A full contingent of support classes are on offer in this one day race meeting held on Saturday July 1st.

WA. Tiger Kart Club. Cockburn race track. It’s not every day you end up with a goat at the race track! It wandered in from somewhere, members assuming it’s someone’s pet. Maybe the goat was looking for a “Billy” kart?
