Statement: Coffs Harbour Kart Club

On behalf of Coffs Harbour Kart Club I’d like to thank all competitors, pit crews and officials for their understanding and efforts over the weekend.

Unfortunately, after 12 months of preparation & planning, the one thing that we couldn’t control was the weather. The decision to cancel the meeting was the correct one as many saw how quickly the water rose.

The quick help from many to pack up and help others was great to see as many dollars’ worth of karts and equipment was saved.

We would like to put out a big thankyou to Sawtell RSL for their assistance with the cancellation of the venue for the presentation dinner. We have come to an arrangement to be able to postpone the dinner until next year. We have been given the option to refund anyone that has paid for the dinner tickets, or carry them over to next year. Please contact me if you’d like a refund, otherwise we will hold your tickets to next year.

Officials of the meeting have declared the results from the placings of the first heat. Please let me know If you would like trophies posted out or held until next year.

I would also like to address a few statements that have been made that this will financially wipe out the club. As most are aware this is not the first time the club has been subjected to flooding. We have an amazing member base, amazing committee and great support from local business and industry. It will be tough, but it is our aim to provide a facility that Karter’s and family’s come and enjoy and this will not stop, we are a resilient bunch and all we ask is that you come back and enjoy our facility.

Shortly there will be a post for a silent auction on our website that will give people an opportunity to purchase the items that were going to be auctioned off at the presentation.

Once again thank you for your support and hope to see everyone and some blue sky next year.

Troy Brown
Coffs Kart Club President
